Thanksgiving evokes many thoughts and images–family, food, blessings, and (for some reason) the Detroit Lions on TV. One of the icons of the season is the cornucopia–the horn-shaped symbol of an abundant harvest. It actually dates back to Greek mythology and the idea of a goat’s horn filled with milk for the baby Zeus, but don’t tell Grandma. Whew. What a week. Hannah finished her season last weekend. Her team went on a tear and ended up # 2 in the entire state in volleyball. She is 13th in the whole state in service aces. Not bad for a sophomore. Then we went to nationals and faced fierce teams from all over. The eventual national champion is also the team that beat us for the NC state title. Not a bad deal.
