Friday is for Fun

Over many years of traveling I have observed two marks of church people I see far too consistently (especially too often in leaders!). First, we tend to take ourselves too seriously. We get our feelings hurt too easily, we cannot take a joke, and we think our views are more important than they are. God has a sense of humor-look in the mirror! If that just made you made, you just proved my first point :-) .

But there is a second observation I have made too often in others, and too often in myself. While we tend to take ourselves too seriously, we do not take the gospel seriously enough. That is why I get a little animated by those who claim to believe it but never share it, and with those who get other stuff in the way of what Paul declared to be of FIRST importance, the gospel.

So, in an effort not to take myself too seriously I offer you the first installment of my hidden desire-to be the next Crocodile Hunter. Below you will see my effort at releasing a fierce animal I captured all by myself-the dreaded North American opossum.
