Sunday Is for Students–Jeff Capps

Okay so today is Monday. Yesterday was a long day (but a good one).   Jeff Capps graduated from Southeastern’s college a couple of years ago. Jeff never had to endure the torment of sitting through one of my classes, but he has had to listen to my teaching far more than most who have. Jeff has traveled with me on many, many occasions as a worship leader.  We have ministered together from NC to Texas, and from Florida to Ohio.  In 09 we already plan to minister together in NC, OK, GA and FL. dsc_3140.JPG Jeff now lives in Dallas, Texas, with his new bride Blair.  So, we do not have as many times of ministry together as we would otherwise. Still, we get together when we can, like last Thursday night in Burlington. NEWS FLASH: Jeff and his band will be with me on Sunday night, February 15, at SEBTS for a Reach Up Youth Rally. I will be preaching, the Jeff Capps Band will be leading worship, followed by a concert by Rush of Fools. End of News Flash. Jeff hails from  Wake Forest where his parents now live.  For several days now Jeff and his band are on a brief CD release tour named for his new song, Shine. His music is now on itunes, and I encourage you to check it out. I love ministering with his band for many reasons, not the least of which is that my son Josh drums for him. Their tour includes:–Burlington, NC Sept 4–Maryland, Sept 5–Huntersville, NC Sept 6-7–Wake Forest, Sept 7–Today, Crossroads Christian School (where Hannah attends)–September 9, First Baptist, Roanoke, VA (and Chapel that morning at SEBTS)- September 10, Trinity Baptist, Mentor, Ohio–September 11, Coffeehouse, SEBTSI love ministering with Jeff and the guys not only because he and they are gifted musicians. I love his humility and his love for truth. He doesn’t just write and play songs, he loves theology and loves to make much of a great God.  I encourage you to use Jeff when you can in your church.  Pray for the tour, as they are taking my aging suburban and driving all night more than once. Oh, the life of young musicians! To find out more go to jeffcapps.com.
