Food for Thought: Manly Naps, Acuff, SEND, Controversy, Student Ministry

Every now and then I want to offer you a few sites online featuring articles that will encourage you, or challenge you, or make you think, or in some cases just make you laugh, because most of us take ourselves too seriously.

From the Art of Manliness blog, there is this on Napping. I have found myself lately getting up really early (for me–like 5 AM), so I have also rediscovered the occasional nap. Glad I’m not the only one.

Lots of Christians, including leaders, seem to enjoy arguing with one another. A lot of needless bickering goes on in the name of “defending the faith.” Burk Parsons offers ten good questions we should ask ourselves before jumping into controversy here. Also that thing I said at the start about taking ourselves too seriously.

If you have seen the series The Bible (one episode is all I have seen thus far), here is a take on it from Jon Acuff. It is the #1 watched show on cable this year so I need to get with the program.
