Today I begin a new day and a new life.
Today, because of the power of gospel of Jesus Christ, the grace of God our Father, and the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirt, I begin again. I not only die daily, I live anew today (I Cor. 15:31).
Today I am a new creation (II Corinthians 5:17).
Today I live this life as a gift from God surrendered to the call of God.
Today I begin a journey through the Scripture, reading the Old Testament as I arise and the New Testament as I decline, following this plan.
Today I forget the past and press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:14).
Today I do not lean on my own understanding but will trust you and acknowledge you in all my ways (Prov. 3:5-6).
Today I wait upon the Lord Who will renew my strength (Isaiah 40:31).
Today I trust in the Lord and will do good. I delight in Him, knowing that in so doing He will give me the desires of my heart (Psalm 37:4).
Today I pray for revival in my heart, my church, my school, and my nation (Psalm 85:6).
Today I focus less on the “big” opportunities of ministry and more on the daily, little things that please God.
Today I love the wife of my youth and celebrate the covenant of marriage.
Today I thank God for our children and their spouses who love Jesus above all else.
Today I enjoy both the opportunity to serve the Lord and the joy of resting in Him.
Today I love God and love people.
Today I will play with our pets.
Today I will work on a puzzle and watch a little football. And play cards.
Today I will speak to my neighbors if I have opportunity.
Today I will not be a workaholic.
Today I will grow in faith.
Today I ignore email and with little exception, social media.
Today I seek not to be served, but to serve (Mark 10:45).
Today I thank God for the blessings and lessons of the past, the opportunities of the future, and breath for today.
Today I live in the moment.
Today I consecrate afresh to LIVE every day of my life.
Today I honor God in my mind, body, and spirit.
Today I learn, for I am more a student than a teacher.
Today I seek opportunities to make disciples who will make disciples.
Today I live in view of the mission of God.
Today I will say Roll Tide at least once.
Today I refuse to be an idolater of sports.
Today I refuse to buy the lie commercials tell me that I must not be satisfied, but instead I should find joy in buying their product.
Today I enjoy coffee. And yogurt. And a hard boiled egg.
Today I thank God for SEBTS and my friends there.
Today I thank God for my church, Richland Creek, and especially the young pros and small group leaders.
Today I will remember that I can make more friends and earn more money, but I cannot make more time. So I will live.
Today I embrace elimination over accumulation. Less is more.
Today I will smile more, laugh more, and criticize less.
Today I embrace love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23).
Today I run from legalism and stand unashamedly on the Word of God, not my preferences.
Today I will drink more water.
Today I will not clean out the garage.
Today I will cut off my computer and enjoy life offline. Starting now.
