I am 51 years old, with an artificial hip, in fair shape given the circumstances. Today I am in better shape than I have been for over 15 years, thanks to 2 routines of 90 days each: Power90 and P90X. I want to share the love J.
Before doing P90X, which is extreme and not for everyone, I did Power 90 for a while. I have decided with the help of Student Life on campus to offer a “Doc’s 90 Day Challenge” (for those not associated with SEBTS, I am the Doc in question) for the fall semester 2010. It is for students (and faculty for that matter) in the College and the Seminary. Single or married (spouses not enrolled are welcome). In shape or not. This is NOT a competition to see who is in the best shape, but a time to encourage one another to take better care of the temple God has given us!
I dare you to try and keep up with your crusty 51-year old, artificially hipped professor J. The details follow.
WHEN: MWF at 730 AM Friday August 20 to Wednesday November 17.
You must commit to being there at LEAST 2 times a week to participate. The actual workout includes chest, arm, back, legs, and abs. Participants would be expected to do some form of aerobic work on the “off” days.
COST: FREE
WHAT PARTICIPANTS NEED:
- Exercise Band or small dumbbells (there are dumbbells available), water bottle, towel. The first day we will assess what you will need in terms of bands/dumbbells. Bring them if you have them but if not we will help you out.
- Appropriate clothing (nothing too tight, to short, no bellies showing or cleavage, etc). Guys in unitards will be thrown out the 3d floor window (read carefully Dean Ashford).
- Devotion to make at LEAST 2 workouts a week and to do the rest on your own, but if possible to make 3 a week.
- Devotion first to Jesus—daily spiritual exercise prioritized before physical.
- Devotion to eating better. You can make a big change with a little effort over time.
WHERE Third floor multipurpose room in Ledford.
HOW TO SIGN UP: Either email Dr. Reid’s secretary at ploafman@sebts.edu or go to sign up at her desk in the Jacumin-Simmons Missions Building.
SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 25 WHO SIGN UP. Sign ups begin immediately. Soon is not a time, soon is not a number. 90 days can change your life. It has mine!

That’s lederhosen, not unitards. Get it right.
Bruce, I am extremely excited that I did not know the difference. And I am more than a little nervous that you do
. Must come from your vast experience in the field.
Am I to assume you will be there, gym shorts over whatever else you wear?
